About the Author

Jenny Brine is a librarian and bibliographer specializing in the Soviet Union. She was librarian at the Centre for Russian and East European Studies, Birmingham University (England) from 1972 to 1986. Her publications include articles on Soviet libraries and readers, an authoritative bibliography of Soviet official publications, and a guide to socialist legal literature.
