Jefferson DeBlanc retired with the rank of colonel in 1972 from the
Marine Corps Reserve. During his service he was attributed with
nine confirmed kills. He was decorated with the Medal of Honor,
Distinguished Flying Cross, the Purple Heart, and the Air Medal
with four gold stars.
