About the Author

Laura McAllister is Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Public Administration and Management at the University of Liverpool. A former parliamentary candidate for Plaid Cymru at two general elections, she has been involved in several key committees within Plaid Cymru before devoting herself to her academic career. She has provided political analysis for Radio 5 and BBC Wales during elections for the National Assembly, Westminster and the European Parliament.
