About the Author

Philip Haythornthwaite is an expert on the Napoleonic Wars with a worldwide reputation. He has written some 40 books, more than 20 for Osprey including Warrior 22 Imperial Guardsman 1799–1815, but still finds time to indulge himself in his other great passion – cricket. Christa Hook is one of Osprey’s most popular illustrators, a reputation justly deserved given the perfect blend of attention to detail and narrative realisation that penetrates her work. Her work for Osprey to date includes Warrior 18 Knight of Outremer 1187-1344 AD, and Campaign 70 Marengo 1800 – Napoleon’s Day of Fate.
