About the Author

Charles Perry was born and raised in Los Angeles. He discovered psychedelics and thereafter keenly followed the growth of the counter-culture that blossomed quickly in the Bay Area in 1965. He has been a staff writer for Rolling Stone magazine and a freelance food writer.
