Ruby in Practice increases productivity by showing developers specific Ruby techniques they can use in their projects. This book won't help push their deadlines back, but it will help them get the job done in less time.

About the Author

Jeremy McAnally has been programming for about eight years and doing graphic design for four years. He is currently a freelance Ruby and Rails developer, consultant, and author. He has over three years' experience with Ruby and two years' with Rails; in that time he has developed a number of small, localized intranet systems and medium- to large-scale systems in Ruby. Assaf Arkin got bitten by the business software bug in 89, back when clientservers were the thing and C was a reasonable language for writing business logic. In 96 he switched to Java, and gave up client-servers for web apps. In 99 he discovered the beauty of XML and the appeal of open source, and was a founding member of XML Apache. In 05 he fell for Ruby's charms and has been using it since for development and for plugging holes that Java left behind. High-profile Rubyists David Black, Gregory Brown, Peter Cooper, Yehuda Katz, and Luke Melia round out the team.
