About the Author

Dr. Michael Brooke is the Strickland Curator of Birds at the University Museum of Zoology, Cambridge. His previous work The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Ornithology, co-edited with Tim Birkhead, won the Library Association's McColvin Medal for the best reference book of the year.
