Reviews

`Review from previous edition P.J. Marshall stands pre-eminent ... The Making and Unmaking of Empires is the fruit of a life's work.
'
David Armitage, TLS
`This is a very welcome book indeed, not least because it is written by one of the greatest of contemporary British imperial historians.
