"The field of clinical neuropsychology has grown so rapidly in
recent years that practitioners face a nearly insurmountable task
trying to keep up with the burgeoning research literature. This
book, and the series of which it is a part, addresses this problem
by providing cutting-edge reviews of the recent scientific
literature by experts in key areas relevant to clinical practice...
The editors are to be commended for assembling such a diverse set
of
offerings, from leading authors... I predict that this series will
become one of the standards in the field, and that copies of the
volumes will become well-worn treasures on clinicians'
bookshelves."
Keith Owen Yeates, PhD, ABPP-CN, Chief, Section of Pediatric
Psychology and Neuropsychology, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and
Professor of Pediatrics, Psychology, and Psychiatry, The Ohio State
University
In the current age of health care reform, it appears that now is
the time for clinical neuropsychology to market itself as a field
identified strongly through its reliance on scientific methodology.
This volume provides its readers with succinct reviews on the most
recent empirical developments in clinical assessment, intervention,
and neuroimaging as practiced with a variety of clinical
populations. Its contents provide a wealth of information that will
prove
to be a valuable resource to clinicians and researchers in all
stages of professional development. Members of the profession are
urged to use material from this book as a means to follow some of
the
latest trends in the field and to help affirm clinical
neuropsychology's reputation among healthcare professions as a
leader in evidence-based clinical practice."
