About the Author

An avid collector, Susan Toomey Frost is also the author of Colors on Clay: The San Jose Tile Workshops of San Antonio, which won the Ron Tyler Award for Best Illustrated Book on Texas History and Culture from the Texas State Historical Association and a Publication Award from the San Antonio Conservation Society. Stella de Sa Rego is an art historian and translator who served as Archivist of Pictorial Collections at the Center for Southwest Research at the University of New Mexico. She translated Mexican Suite: A History of Photography in Mexico by Olivier Debroise and Photography in Brazil: 1840-1900 by Gilberto Ferrez.
