Christopher M. Moreman, PhD, is associate professor in the department of philosophy at California State University, East Bay. He holds a doctorate in religious studies from the University of Wales, Lampeter (now the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David).
"Christopher Moreman has provided scholars with an invaluable
compilation of material that will allow future authors to attempt a
more cohesive portrayal of Spiritualism than has to date been
published in any single-volume history." - Journal of the Society
for Psychical Research
"I can attest to the level of serious scholarship offered. This is
the first academic treatment of Spiritualism of this magnitude,
ever. . . . Christopher Moreman is to be commended on the enormous
effort that has gone into completion of this ground-breaking
anthology that is sure to raise discussion of Spiritualism within
academia and its inclusion within religious studies. . . . For
Spiritualist churches, and university and other libraries
specializing in religious studies, psychical research, or
anomalies, Christopher Moreman’s anthology should be a mandatory
acquisition." - Psypioneer Journal
"The principal audiences at which this set are aimed are students
of theology, comparative religion and the history of religion,
although much will also be of interest to general social
historians. Psychical researchers and parapsychologists also should
find much of Volume Two in particular of interest." - Magonia
