Carolyn Brewer teaches in the Division of Arts at Murdoch University, Western Australia. Her research work focuses on the impact of religion on the construction of gender. In 2001, she published Holy Confrontation: Religion, Gender and Sexuality in the Philippines, 1521-1685 Manila, and is co-editor of the award winning electronic journal, Intersections: Gender, History and Culture in the Asian Context, http://wwwsshe.murdoch.edu.au/intersections.
