Paul Kurtz (1925-2012) was president of Prometheus Books and professor emeritus of philosophy at the State University of New York. In addition, he was the founder of the Committee of Skeptical Inquiry, Council of Secular Humanism, and the Center of Inquiry. He was the author of numerous books and articles, including Skepticism and Humanism: The New Paradigm.
