Principles and Practice of Surgical Oncology emphasizes an integrated approach to the treatment of solid tumors. Advances in cancer biology, pathology, and imaging sciences are highlighted. Chapters on the genetic basis for disease- and site-specific imaging modalities are particularly informative. The chapters on nutrition and pain management are well done and unique among surgical oncology texts. Coverage of soft tissue tumors is comprehensive, whereas palliative topics could be expanded.
