About the Author

William R. Cobb, a retired engineer and business executive, is the author or editor of several books on baseball history. A member of the Board of Advisors of the Ty Cobb Museum in Royston, Georgia, he lives in Marietta, Georgia. Gary Mitchem is acquisitions editor at McFarland and a member of SABR. Mark Durr is senior cover designer at McFarland and a member of SABR.
