...you won't find a more complete reference book to horror and
science fiction films...on the planet and as reference books go it
re-defines the term indispensable...Donald C. Willis...we salute
you.

Save your pennies, kids—this one is it! A stunning achievement in
the field. Willis has a wonderful sensibility and a genuine writing
talent, using a kind of shorthand style to bring these often
strange films to brief, vivid life.
*Bright Lights Film Journal*
It's been 13 years since the publication of Horror and Sience
Fiction Films III, and this fourth volume still excited the author,
who is entranced by the availability of so many obscure films now
on video...

...coverage has become more detailed with each new edition, and
Horror and Science Fiction Films IV beats them all...thanks to the
video age, this volume is also somewhat more international than its
predecessors ...a pleasure to handle...inviting to read.
*Video Watchdog*
The present update, in many ways the quirkiest and most useful,
covers an additional 4,200 genre films through 1994...summaries are
written in a lively, readable style that should appeal to fans of
the genre...quite simply, Horror and Science Fiction Films is the
most comprehensive, entertaining, and informative source for
difficult-to-find films in these genres.
*American Reference Books Annual*
The king of horror film checklists is back, with the classiest
edition of his four-volume set presented by the 'new' and improved
Scarecrow Press, which is typeset and designed in an eye-pleasing
two-column format. I've said so in the past and I say it again: The
Willis volumes have been essential for research and writing in my
library for over 20 years...Unlike other wordy reference sources,
Willis includes short synopses and critiques of most all the movies
included, and Willis is not afraid to stump on sacred cows and
enjoy films that many others hate. Never has the Willis volume
looked more impressive, and while $90 is a huge chunk of change,
the quality warrants the high price tag. Highly recommended.
*Midnight Marquee*
...Willis covers a much broader range of foreign film than I've
ever seen before.
*Science Fiction Chronicle*
...execellent reference
