"This is an outstanding study with a solid theoretical background.
It will probably become a key text in the relatively new subfield
of Asian-Latin American cultural production, and may encourage
other scholars to follow its path."--José Suárez, author of Mario
de Andrade: The Creative Works
"This is a groundbreaking study because, despite the influence of
the Chinese community in Peru's history and culture, the study of
Chinese and Sino-Peruvian cultural production has been overlooked
by the critics."--Araceli Tinajero, editor of Orientalisms of the
Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian World
