history of the international system.

...this is in many ways an admirable and ambitious book. The
rationale for the endeavor, to gain an understanding of
post-colonial relations between Africa ad Europe, and the thesis,
that an historically unique international regime has emerged, are
both welcome contributions to this international relations theory
as applied to Africa. So too are the vast research into, and the
concise explanations of, French, British, and Belgian involvement
in Africa in the past three-and-a-half decades.
