About the Author

Douglas E. Nash, is a West Point Class of 1980 graduate and retired U.S. Army Colonel with 28 years of active military service in a variety of Army units ranging from armored cavalry and armor to special operations forces, including Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations. His military deployments to combat zones such as Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other assignments in Germany, Guantanamo Bay, and Uzbekistan, uniquely qualify him as a military analyst, tactician and historian. Nash’s published works include the RZM best-seller Hell’s Gate: The Battle of the Cherkassy Pocket, and the 2008 Pulitzer Prize-nominated Victory Was Beyond Their Grasp. He is currently employed as a military historian in the History Division of the U.S. Marine Corps University in Quantico, VA. Remy Spezzano is the founder and owner of RZM Publishing, a company that has become a byword for high quality photo books on the German Armed Forces of the Second World War. As a specialist in the area of photo research, he has worked with some of the world’s preeminent national archives and gained access to numerous private collections to procure the finest photographic material produced by the German Propaganda units.
