Reviews

A substantial achievement ... An essential addition forhumanities libraries, particularly those with researchers active inGothic. (Reference Reviews, November2013) As a reference work that s firmly rooted in andactively devoted to expressing the current state of academicscholarship about its area, The Encyclopedia of theGothic shares all the virtues and shortcomings of that field, including any quirks of selective focus. It s quite valuablefor what it is and illuminating for what it isnot. (New York Journal of Books, February2013)
