Gr 5-8-This series chronicles the lives of six pro wrestlers, from childhood to the present. Each athlete's training, important matches, and character are discussed. Though the narratives feel written for quantity over quality and can be clunky, the many details will appeal to readers. While most readers will select these volumes because they are established fans, those with little knowledge of wrestling will find solid explanations of the business and its lingo. The authors acknowledge that much of the action is for entertainment purposes, but they emphasize that fitness, practice, and strength are important. They also address the role drugs play in the sport. WWE enthusiasts will delight in the web resources, which include information about camps and clinics. (c) Copyright 2012.
