About the Author

Author Jarrad Fuoss has selected a wide range of photographs from the Library of Congress and Gettysburg National Military Park to record the diverse history of this national icon. As a student and professional in Gettysburg, Fuoss has spent much of his life exploring the importance of the battlefield in our shared history. Now, utilizing the best images available, he narrates the transformation of a horrific landscape in July 1863 to a peaceful memorial in the present day.
