About the Author

Francis Farley is a well-known particle physicist. He lived in Geneva, worked at CERN for 20 years and later with particle accelerators in the U.S.A. The Royal Society awarded him a medal for his precise measurements on the muon. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and an honorary Fellow of Trinity College Dublin. He is an experienced skier and glider pilot with international C-certificate, gold plus diamond. He lives in France.
