About the Author

Linda Dorricott and Deidre Cullon are ethnohistorical researchers and writers with academic backgrounds in anthropology. Their research supports treaty negotiations, aboriginal land and resource use, archaeology, the development of First Nation archives and libraries and legal actions. Captain Richards's journal was obtained during a research trip to England in 2006. The editors were born and raised on Vancouver Island and live in Nanaimo. THE PRIVATE JOURNAL OF CAPTAIN G.H. RICHARDS is their first book.
