The Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) is the country's
leading environmental careers development organization. ECO's
mission is to protect and enhance the environment through the
development of diverse leaders, the promotion of careers, and the
inspiration of individual action. ECO accomplishes this through
internships, career advice, career products, research and
consulting.
Founded in 1972, ECO has placed nearly 7,500 college, grad students
and recent graduates in environmental internships in the public,
private and nonprofit sectors. ECO has become a leader in workforce
diversity and mentorship, sponsoring 1,850 Associates from 200+
colleges through ECO's ground breaking Diversity Initiative, which
began in 1992. And ECO services and resources reach out to hundreds
of thousands each year through the combined programs of our
national career conferences, top selling career book, research,
college outreach programs and online through our website. For 30
years, ECO has been a pathway to environmental careers.
