About the Author

Julie Anne Taddeo, Ph.D., has been teaching modern British and European history and women's studies at Temple University in Philadelphia since 1996. Her articles and essays have been published in the Journal of the History of Sexuality, as well as in the anthology Un-Manning Modernism: Gendered Re-Readings and Clues. She is a member of the American Historical Association, the American Association of University Women, the New York State Association of European Historians and the Upstate New York Women's History Organisation.
