"[This] volume [is] important, timely, and comprehensive effort....
[This] book [is] to be highly recommended to all physicians as well
as to the general public interested in these subjects. The interest
in how the brain works, from National Public Radio to friends
without any scientific training, seems to be growing as the field
explodes. [This] book corrals the knowledge admirably and presents
it in an organized, understandable form."- "American Journal of
Psychiatry"
"An abbreviated version of the "Textbook of Neuropsychiatry and
Clinical Neurosciences," this volume is both thorough and
comprehensive. The chapters are easy to read and ably synthesize
complex information. The special and unique things about this book
is that every chapter focuses on connecting the psychological
manifestations with corresponding brain processes, never straying
from the goal of teaching us about the connection between
neurological and psychiatric symptom profiles.."- "Psychosomatics,"
"July-August 2005"
"This book retains the important and relevant material contained in
the original textbook. As in the larger version, this book has the
very latest in neuroscience research and is designed for clinicians
interested in the brain and the brain's relationship to behavior in
their patients. The editors and authors have succeeded in producing
a very useful book.... This is an extremely valuable boiled-down
version of the textbook. Clinicians and trainees will, without a
doubt, benefit from reading and referring to this book."- "Doody's
Health Science Book Reviews"
