About the Author

Marilyn J. Chiat has taught at the University of Minnesota and has lectured extensively on religious art and architecture in this country and abroad. She has also written encyclopedia entries on churches and synagogues and numerous journal articles. Awards for her work in preserving and documenting religious architecture include the "Model Initiative" award from Partners for Sacred Places in Philadelphia and the CUE award from the City of Minneapolis.
