Manshour Varasteh was a political activist during the Shah’s regime and was detained by SAVAK (Iran’s Secret Service). After the revolution he was involved in promoting freedom, justice and human rights through involvement with NGOs. Due to his activities he was forced to leave Iran in 1981 and has been living in exile ever since. He got his PhD in International Politics from The University of Wales (Aberystwyth). He has published books in English and Farsi; his last book Iran and International Community was republished on 2011 by Routledge.
