About the Author

Rosie Whitehouse developed a love of travel when her parents bundled the family in the car and drove to Liguria in the summer of 1966. Rosie studied International History and then Russian Government and Politics at the LSE. She had a successful career at the BBC World Service until she became a mum. She then spent five years as a housewife in the war-torn Balkans with her journalist husband.
When her eldest son was just a month old she made her second trip to Liguria and fell in love with it. Twenty six years later, Rosie now knows the place like the back of her hand. There is a long family connection with the region and Rosie spends part of the year in the house that her husband's family have owned for over 45 years. Rosie speaks Italian but is frequently corrected by her daughters who actually speak Italian with a Ligurian accent.
Rosie is one of the UK's leading experts on family travel and over the last twenty six years she has explored every corner of Liguria with her family and can offer a real insider's view on what to do, where to eat and where to stay.
Rosie has written for The Sunday Telegraph, The Independent, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, Sunday Express, Family Circle, The Economist, Kids Out, Parentwise, Living France, Image and the websites B4Baby.com and Raisingkids.co.uk. She is the author of a number of travel guides and her own autobiography, Are We There Yet? Travels with my Frontline Family.
