About the Author

Rosalind I. J. Hackett is a Distinguished Professor in the Humanities at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has been teaching in the Department of Religious Studies since 1986, and is an adjunct Professor in Anthropology. She has published widely on religion in Africa, and is currently President of the International Association for the History of Religions.
