Reviews

A beautiful tribute to the genius Ledwinka ... thank you Veloce! Oldtimer Magazine/ Dreamcar Magazine A fine tribute to a remarkable engineer The Automobile a 'must have' for those interested in the history of car design. www.carartsport.com If "Tatra" is not yet in your everyday vocabulary, this fascinating book deserves a place on the bookshelf of anyone who has an interest in automotive history and fine engineering. The Flying Lady A truly entertaining book Auto Express comprehensively illustrated with many fascinating photographs, illustrations, period marketing materials and factory images. Classic Car Weekly I am delighted with this enlarged and improved second edition of a work that received the prestigious 'Cugnot Award of Distinction' bestowed on it by the Society of Automotive Historians ... in the book publishing world it is especially creditable to see such care lavished on a subject matter that might not at first glance appear overtly commercial ... This is a superb 224 page hardback book by Veloce containing 326 historic photographs and some great period colour artwork. Written by the two acknowledged authorities on Ledwinka, this highly recommended book goes into great detail about contemporary work into streamlining by Jaray and others that influenced Tatra and outlines other radical auto technologies being espoused in the Twenties and Thirties throughout Europe and beyond. Big End/All Torque This brilliant second edition, a run of just 1500 copies, pays further tribute to Ledwinka and reinforces his position amongst the world's great designers. tkc (Totalkitcar) The authors have covered the full history of the Tatra company, which is one of the oldest factories in continuous automobile manufacture, dating back to the 19'h century. By doing this, they have placed both Ledwinka and the Czechoslovak Tatra company back in their rightful places in the history of car design, and provided a fully comprehensive assessment of the influence of Tatra car designs and their inspired creator. Vintage Racecar/Vintage Roadcar An important, interesting and well produced book. Classic driver (monthly)
