About the Author

Ian McNeill is a graduate of the Royal Military College, Duntroon, the Australian Staff College, the University of New England and the Australian National University. As an infantry officer he served in Korea, Singapore and Vietnam with the Australian Army Training Team. In 1972 he joined the military history section of Army Office. His work there, among other things, produced The Team: Australian Army Advisers in Vietnam 1962-1972.
