About the Author

Jessica Hutchings is a post-doctoral fellow at Massey University whose work includes environmental, development and gender issues. Clive Aspin is a senior research fellow at the University of Auckland and has an extensive background in Maori public health and research into HIV/AIDS, sexuality and Maori men's health. The 17 contributors include Georgina Beyer, the first transsexual in the world to be elected a mayor and member of parliament Carmen; former Silver Fern and Black Fern Louisa Wall; Paul Diamond, broadcaster and writer; and Te Taite Cooper, composer and performing arts .
