Mark Elliott fell in love with the Caucasus in 1995 while researching the groundbreaking guidebook, Asia Overland, a transcontinental travellers' manual also published by Trailblazer. He has been visiting Azerbaijan regularly ever since and has driven, hiked, ridden and hitched back into virtually every corner of the country to research the second edition of this guide. In between other travel-writing forays to South-East Asia and Cameroon, he spends his life in quietly-suburban Belgian bliss.
