Olivier Berggruen was born in Switzerland in 1963. He grew up in Paris and then studied Art History at Brown University (Providence, Rhode Island) before going on to do further research at the Courtauld Institute in London. He has curated museum exhibitions devoted to artists such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Yves Klein, Jean- Michel Basquiat and Ed Ruscha. He lives in New York with his wife and two children.
