Paolo Morisi is a specialist in military history and an expert on World War I. He studied at the University of Bologna and completed a Master of Arts in Political Studies and History at Columbia University in New York City. In 2012 he published a work on the Italian high mountain Arditi which won a special prize dedicated to the study of alpine warfare. He is also a member of the Guerra Bianca (The White War), a society comprised of military historians dedicated to the study of the military history of World War I in the Alps. This is his second publication for Helion & Company.
Whilst it might appear a rather specialist book, it demonstrates
well the need for adaptation in warfare, often driven by the
successful endeavours of a handful of junior commanders rather than
a major doctrinal change stemming from the top. Highly
recommended.
