About the Author

Noel Rowe is the author of The Pictorial Guide to the Living Primates and founder and director of Primate Conservation, Inc., a not-for-profit foundation that funds research and conservation projects on the least known and most endangered primates in the natural habitat. He is a freelance photographer, who has traveled the world to document primates in their natural habitat. Marc Myers did the layout and the maps for The Pictorial Guide to the Living Primates. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Primate Conservation, Inc. The All the Worlds Primates website (alltheworldsprimates.org) was his idea and design. He was a videographer making educational health content and now videos primates whenever possible. Jane Goodall is one of the worlds most renowned primatologists and humanitarians. She began her groundbreaking studies of chimpanzees in 1960, at what is now known as Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. She is the founder and director of the Jane Goodall Institute and the Roots and Shoots program. Her work as a United Nations Messenger of Peace has taken her around the globe numerous times speaking about conservation, animal welfare, and hope. Russell Mittermeier is currently the Executive Vice-Chair of Conservation International. He is the Chairman of the IUCN Species Survival Commissions Primate Specialist Group and President of the Margot Marsh Biodiversity Foundation, which focuses on primate conservation. He has been involved in the description of 13 new primates and 3 turtles, and 8 species have been named after him. Anthony Rylands is a primatologist and a Senior Research Scientist at Conservation International, a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, and Deputy Chair of the IUCN/SSC Primate Specialist Group. He is the current editor of Neotropical Primates and the journal Primate Conservation.
