About the Author

R. C. Gupta, Ph.D., former Professor in Metallurgy and Head, Department of Metallurgical Engineering, IT-BHU. He has been engaged in teaching and research activities in the field of Ferrous Process Metallurgy for the past four decades at Banaras Hindu University. His teaching and research interests include energy and environment. He has worked on renewable energy for use in metal industry and use of metallurgical solid waste to make value-added products. Dr. R.C. Gupta has supervised the research/project work of 11 Ph.D. and about 70 M.Tech. and B.Tech. students for their respective degrees (Ph.D., M.Tech. and B.Tech.). He has edited two conference proceedings and published more than 120 research papers in various international/national journals. He is a member of various expert committees of Government of India related to the environment management.
