Reviews

Most social and political histories of Macau have relied almost solely on Portuguese or other Western sources. This book corrects the imbalance in its extensive use of Chinese source material, and is written from a Chinese postcolonial perspective. It is therefore an important contribution to the ongoing story of Macau. -- David Brookshaw, University of Bristol
